Nursery and Wild Warriors

St Martin’s Nursery has it’s own dedicated website via this link http://st-martinsnursery.co.uk/

Our Nursery offers an exciting and vibrant learning environment with a positive ethos and a warm family atmosphere, which welcomes both children and their parents. We have well-qualified, experienced, caring staff who enable us to provide the very best in pre-school nursery education. The children are continually encouraged to explore new experiences, discuss and develop their interests and celebrate their wonderful ideas and cultural backgrounds.

Wild Warriors is our exciting outdoor nursery, which has a large hut, fire area, den building area, small world area, mud kitchen, story telling area and plenty of space for playing and exploring. It provides children with opportunities to use real tools, learn how to light fires, build dens and observe changes to the natural environment throughout the seasons. In addition to this children are involved in planting and caring for our home grown produce.

Wild Warriors is influenced by the forest school ethos, where learning through play and hands on experiences is promoted and encouraged. It offers children time and space to develop a range of skills through different activities in a natural environment. This helps to promote self-esteem, emotional well-being, independence, social skills and risk taking, which are all vital in creating successful lifelong learners.

We also have access to all the main school resources and facilities, including the playground equipment, fields, hall for PE and suite of laptops and ipads.

The Nursery at St Martin’s operates sessions every morning and afternoon with lunch available for children too.

St Martin’s provide a Breakfast Club from 8am each morning and nursery friends are always welcome to join. There is no cost for the childcare involved, just for the breakfast, which is optional on the day, if you would like to use this facility.

Although funded nursery hours start from the term after a child’s third birthday, as a Trust we are able to offer a nursery place for your child for up to 15 hours per week from their third birthday. There would be no charge for these hours on the proviso that you agree to continue sending your child to St Martin’s Nursery once they are in receipt of their Government funded hours, the following term.

Our Nursery is part of St Martin’s C of E Primary School and is guided by the main school policies and procedures.

Please get in touch with our Nursery Manager, Mrs Sonya Drake, via sdrake@stbarnabasmat.com if you are interested in joining us so that we can plan our numbers accordingly.

We look forward to working with you and your child during some of the most important years of their development.
