Ofsted

Ofsted completed a monitoring visit on 16th March 2021.

They shared many positive comments, including:

  • Our approach to reading and the teaching of phonics.
  • St Martin’s is preparing children well for secondary school.
  • The curriculum is carefully constructed and provides rich outdoor experiences.
  • The Parent View survey was very positive and staff feel well supported and guided.
  • The support of the Trust is valued and governance is strong.

Our most recent monitoring visit from the Regional Schools Offices stated that:

‘Learning behaviour across the school is good; pupils are engaged in their learning and are making accelerated progress.’

In February 2020 we were graded ‘Good’ In our SIAMS (Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools) inspection:-

The new leadership of the school, MAT (Multi-Academy Trust) and governing body are driving rapid improvements in behaviour and pupils’ attitude to learning whilst building good relationships with parents, staff and the community.’ and ‘This strong, yet compassionate, leadership has led to marked improvements in behaviour and attitudes to learning …’.
