Our student council is made up of children from Years R-6 and each class has a representative. The pupils have an opportunity to write or give a verbal manifesto to their class and are then voted in by their peers to decide the year’s School Council. They work towards the ‘Promoting Active Democracy Loudly’ awards to enable them to evaluate their work and the impact that they have on the school life.
The student council meet on a half termly basis to discuss a variety of issues relating to the school. Previously the student council have looked into the children’s perception of break times in the school and have spent a budget on playground equipment. The school council are always instrumental in gaining pupil feedback, completing various pupil conferences and participating in interviews with staff.
